New Layout [again]

Long absence.

It's supposed to make the heart grow fonder.

Well it works for me and my girlfriend but not for all matters. I dread dragging myself to school early in the morning for lectures. After several years of absence from being a full-time student I'm now officially a full-time student again but it's only for a one year period. Final year exams are due by May 2006 and by Aug/Sept I will get my transcript and be ready to face the working world with a proper degree.

Friend of mine who saw my new layout said it's too feminine for a guy. Makes me wonder - Having a flower as my main picture is feminine? Well to be honest it's only in the recent years that I started to develop a slight liking for flowers. Ok before you guys start blasting me and saying I'm becoming gay let me put up a defense first - I'm perfectly straight with a girlfriend whom I adore and can't wait to see her everyday. In fact we're trying to stay from one another at times for fear we would spend too time with one another and restrict our own social circle in the process.

I guess it kinda started with dance. When I received my first flower from some dance mates as little gift for pre-performance motivators i was visibly embarrassed because 'guys' dont get flowers as gifts. At least that was my stereotyped thinking before i immersed myself actively in the dance community. However as the number of performances increased it became a norm for me. In fact, when I did my first performance with the SIM Dance Club for their student week performance I gave all my dance team members a yellow-orange carberra [hope i spelt it correctly] as pre-motivator gift. I could immediately their faces light up with smiles.

For the girls that is.

There was a guy in the dance team but he was kinda awkward at receiving the flower. *Smiles* So me as like when I received my first flower as well.

So.. that's probably the first thing that came to my mind when i decided to sit and down after a long absence from all my concert performances.. competitions.. and the ironic thing is.. the more i immerse myself in the dance community the more i realise its not exactly a bed of roses either. Dance groups do play power politics amidst one another as well, which is sad to me because the dance community in singapore is so small its almost like out of 10 people in the dance community you're likely to know at half the amount if not more when you're active enough for a consistent amount of time. Shouldn't we unite to make the scene a more "vibrant" place as what the State had been advocating recently? Our time has arrived - Dance is the mainstream trend-setter now with hiphop taking the lead and jazz and social dancing taking the close lead behind.

Well.. gotta go prepare already. I've got a commercial show at 7plus later and 4pm is the meeting time for technical stage runs and sound system checking. Adios amigos and see u guys around.
